What's Up

Hey everyone. Just wanted to give a quick update. Jamie and Jake came to visit us earlier this week. I think we about walked them to death, but it was a good time nonetheless. Plus they got to go to Vegas afterward and rest up. We hit all the usual stops which never seem to get old plus we added a few new stops to the tour. Mt. Tam hike, Alcatraz, which I had never been and Height Ashbury. Which Jules and I hit the next day because I saw a shirt I wanted. By the way, just so you know, never ever under any circumstance go to the Mcdonalds on Height st. ever. Trust me. I didn't get the shirt but I may have gotten hepatitis.

The rest of our week was pretty uneventful. Jules had pajama day twice at school which made our mornings infinitely easier. His akido class is going really well and this week he got to throw his teacher Al across the mat. Amazing things that does to the 4 yr old ego. This weekend we went to the farmers market, and hiked a trail by our house where we encountered a pond full of newts an handful of small snakes and one huge snake. Jason is still healing from my fingernails in his side. It was pretty huge.
I think we're gonna stay inside this week.
That's about it I guess. I did finish reading swanns way, but that's just a personal achievement. only five more books and 2500 pages left. Whoo Hoo!
I'm trying to get more video of jules to post, but he's on to me so I must devise a craftier plan.

Bad Blogger

Well, it's official. I am a bad bad blogger. I hope everyone is doing well.Things have been kinda crazy around here Jason has switched jobs and is now working for the Morphic group, which is a consulting firm in Boston. No we are not in fact moving back to Boston thank goodness. Jason gets to work from home which is nice for all of us. He likes it alot so far , and I think the work is right up his alley. Right now his only obstacle is Mama kitty jumping on his keyboard all the time. But in all fairness he is the only thing separating her from the window sill so he is kind of asking for it.

Julien is great. The stress of swim class was to much to bear for him so Jason and I are teaching him and he has moved on to Akido, which he absolutely loves. He gets to perfect all of his ninja tricks and roll on the floor. What more could a little boy ask for. The newest thing is that he is learning Spanish which is great but he is picking it up way faster than me, which leaves me to spend my evenings with his flash cards trying to cath up. Muey importante? Maybe.

California is still great. We haven't been on many big adventures of late. Well I haven't. Unless you count inner city Oakland, which I completely do. Jason got to go to Vegas a few weeks back with some friends. This past Sunday we took Jules to see his first baseball game. It was so cool to see his face as we walked into the stadium, he was soo excited. Giant vs Cardinals, we beat your butt. You can feel sad about it if you want, I would. The payback was that it was unseasonably warm for San Fran, and we literally baked in the sun. The stadium is right on the bay but there was nary a breeze. But after tickets 8 dollar hot dogs 6 dollar waters and a 12 dollar foam finger we were broke and hot and happy. All worth it.

Jaime and Jake are coming this weekend and Jules has been counting down on his calender. It should be a pretty good time. I'll let you know.

Mid Feb

Posted by Picasa
I can't belive it is the middle of February already. Time is flying by. There hasn't been much going on around here. This past weekend we took Jules to the adventure playground at the Berkely Marina. It's this amazing place where people come and donate old wood and paint and tools and then the kids come in a build forts and ships and whatever else they can think of. Jules had a blast and wanted to keep adding steps to things. Pirate boat? needs a step. Rocking horse? step. We went with our friends Tara and Alex who have two little boys Lyle and Finn who Jules just idolizes.http://www.ci.berkeley.ca.us/ContentDisplay.aspx?id=8656
This past satuerday I went into the city to see the comic Janeane Garofolo at Cobbs comedy club. ILOVE Janeane and it had been quite awhile since i was treated to a full on conservative right-wing republican smack down. It was just what I needed. Jason is still sick and drug himself through the week. Julien and I went into SF today to visit his new office. Jules was bummed that there was no dog but stoked that they have Guitar Hero hooked up to giant amps.

Also on the news front. Jaime and Jake are headed our way in April, all the way from Des Moines. I'm soooo excited. we are only going to have three days here before heading to Vegas but San Francisco is gonna kick Vegas's butt in awesomeness. Rumor also has it that Debby and Liz may try to make it out the summer as well. I solemly swear I will not let anyone get their head bashed.

Hey everyone!

Well my new years resolution was to get more consistent with the blogging and keeping in touch with everyone. So far I have failed miserably. Better late than never I say. So much has happened since last I typed, Jon and Kathleen came and visited, which was awesome but it feels like it was ages ago already. We have gone on a couple of trips. One to lake Tahoe, and the other, home for Christmas. Jason has started a new Job in the city that he really likes, and Julien has started three day preschool to get him ready for kindergarten in the fall "SIGH". In between these things we have taken turns being sick. Julien just got over pink eye, and I still have some mutant form of a sinus infection that has plagued me since before Christmas. Jason had fought off our germs long and hard but finally succumbed last week with a cough and sore throat.

Our trip home was a success for the most part. Julien had a blast and got soo many toys for Christmas. He is one by one taking them to show and tell and retelling his trip home story. The only part that really sucked was that we didn't get to see and spend time with everyone we wanted to. It being the holidays made everything a bit more rushed and hectic, and it just didn't seem like we had enough time to do everything we wanted to do.

Jules is in a swimming class. The only problem is that he only wants to swim with the lady instructors, this does not bode well for Eric his actual teacher. Eric is about 15 and darts panicked glances at J and I as Jules refuses to set foot in the water until Talia, Jules's fave lady comes by. It's a process.

Jason's new job is going really well. He has to commute into the city a few times a week which sucks sometimes but he get to work from home a couple days a week too, which is nice. He gets to get his hands into code again, which makes him smile, so I'm happy.

I have been sick steadily since before Christmas and of no real use to anyone, but I have started indoor rock climbing with my friend Dorothy. I am terrified of heights, so the first 3story climb and subsequent repell was nothing short of terrifying. But also soo much fun. We'll see, I'm thinking Everest in the spring.

I hope everyone is well, even though we just saw alot of you, we are all homesick already. It is my February 4th resolution , I will keep in better touch.
